The 360 symbolic degrees and their interpretation Contents

I’m still curious about the common name Golog for 15 Aries and 11 Sagittarius! I know that the second book by Franz Bardon has no relation to astrology but it is interesting to have the definition of these degrees by other astrologers (I thank the anonymous author who posted on the internet )

Franz Bardon – top The 360 Heads of the Zone Girdling the Earth

Golog (15° Aries) – This head is well acquainted with any field of science in our physical world, and there exists no problem which he would not be able to solve. Golog is regarded as a great philosopher and exposes the synthesis of philosophy to the magician by intuition and inspiration.

Golog (11° Sagittarius) – Being an excellent initiator into the magic of evocation, this head initiates the magician into secret methods concerning the evocation of all types of beings. He will reveal to the highly ethically developed magician powerful magic words which will force any being, no matter whether positive or negative, to obey him absolutely. The magician may further learn much from this intelligence about the synthesis of the magic of evocation.

  1. Sepharial

This is another popular set of images for the degrees publish by Sepharial (1864-1929) who claimed his symbol set was a translation of La Volasfera, by Antonio Borelli (or Bonelli). I am still searching for the original date for La Volasfera. Sepharial (1864-1929) also known as Walter Gorn Old. He was a Theosophist in his earlier years, then became associated with astrologers like Alan Leo. Later he is interest turned to charismatic Christianity. His translation of La Volasfera was first published in 1898.

15-16 deg Aries A youth, book in hand, wanders .apparently through a glade overhung with the branches of surrounding trees. The sunlight is slanting through the trees, and falling upon the figure of the student. It denotes one who is fond of nature, and studious of her laws; loving the peaceful contemplation of natural-beauty; devoted to the higher interests of his soul; and of a reclusive disposition. Such would be successful in his pursuits of natural history , whether in one department or another, but would not apply his knowledge to the attainment of fame. This is a degree of PASSIVE BEAUTY

11-12 deg Sagittarius A fair woman sporting herself on a couch. It is the index of a mind that is give to the delights of the senses, voluptuous and sybaritic, self indulgent and indolent, yet ambitious of honors and wealth. The pleasures of the senses will prove to the native a delusion and a snare, leading him on from one indulgence to other until at length he will fall into a premature senility and ineptitude which he will not have strength enough to rouse himself from. Women under this degree should be carefully cherished and fore fended. It is a degree of SENSUSOUSNESS.

2. Carelli

The meaning of each of the degrees as given by Adriano Carelli in “The 360 Degrees of the Zodiac” 2004

15-16 deg Aries Symbols: A man pouring water from an ewer. A reaper at his work. The seaside dwellers who both till the soil and rake the sea are often under this influence. By itself this degree does bestow luck, but not exclusively in farming; it does not ensure renown to one dealing with agriculture from a scientific viewpoint, like botany, agricultural economics, statistics, etc. As a tiller, an agronomist or a naturalist, as a seaman or a fisherman, the native is fond of nature and tends to a contemplative life, which may lead him to passivity or even idleness. Hard working as he may be, he will, however, love what the French call ecole buissonniere and like roving outside the four walls of school. As a boy, he will play truant, or will rather do his “homework” in the open; as a grownup, he will have no ambition and will not care two hoots about academic laurels. Neither contemplative love of nature nor work (whether material or scholarly) will hinder the native’s eloquence. If the other aspects favor it, he may very well take to teaching.

11-12 deg Sagittarius Only a comprehensive glance, taking in the astrological picture in its entirety, will enable us to judge whether the features of this degree are vices or virtues. There may be love of home or selfish attachment to one’s comforts; a faithfulness to habit implying a methodic mind, as well as the utter powerlessness of one chained to his customary routine; a self-containment suggestive of a wealth of pent-up energies or betraying sheer impotence to act. A strong lover, the native may lavish his affections on his lawful wife, or have many, erotic ties at the same time, the only clearly emerging feature being sacrifice of other—however eager—desires to the flesh. He will be kind and affable with his neighbors. Yet in talking he may display a self-contradiction apt to annoy his interlocutors. The excess of lust may involve him in all kinds of trouble and may wear precociously his bodily vigor, thereby increasing his congenital slackness.

3. Charubel

Charubel (1826-1908) was the pseudonym of John Thomas, a Welsh clairvoyant, astrologer and healer. Charubel’s first published his interpretations in 1893. The author notes that due to precession there is a relationship between 0 Aries or the Aries Point and the position of this against the actual constellations which is at 6 degrees Pisces. It was at 12 degrees Pisces when Charubel wrote this text. This meaning of 6 degrees Pisces could hold some significance describing the current time period according to Charubel.

15-16 deg Aries A man with a sheaf of corn under This denotes a hardworking person, one arm and a sickle under the other. one who will devote his energies to husbandry, and who will prosper by his labour. I advise those who may have this degree on the ascendant to keep to agriculture.

4. Henson

From “Degrees of the Zodiac” by Donna Walter Henson published by American Federation of Astrologers in 2000.

15-16 deg Aries Persuasive oratory; public life; music (variations of rhythm and movement); dancers and poets; electricians; a public character or one with oratorical ability; a degree of law, order, and rhythm; loves family and home; with Cancer-Capricorn and Gemini-Sagittarius, lawyers; with Leo-Aquarius and Taurus-Scorpio, musicians; suicide; apoplexy (stroke); pons vareli.

11-12 deg Sagittarius Science, practical art work, men with this are fond of skating, boxing or other athletic sports, women are of the comely Venus type with a pleasant personality. 9-13 Sagittarius sometimes denotes peculiar dreams; (rastaban); criminal tendencies; properly losses; accidents; architects, large tibial vein.

5. Kozminsky

Isidore Kozminsky wrote in the early 1900’s. I’ve not yet found the original publication date of his “Zodiacal Symbology and its Planetary Power.”

15-16 deg Aries Symbol: Wild flowers growing amidst the corn in a sunlit field. Denotes a person of charm, a lover of freedom— mental and physical—of nature, and of simple loveliness whose works in life will be blessed with success, and whose individuality will make itself felt amongst men. It is a symbol of Abundance.

11-12 deg Sagittarius  Symbol: A coiled serpent, above which is a grinning skull. Denotes one of a vicious temperament who is liable to be obsessed and used by the dark forces. A strong and beneficent power over him may transmute his nature and aid him to overcome ill fate, but evil is more likely to attend him and make him her victim. It is a symbol of Overthrowing.

6. Leinbach

Esther V. Leinbach’s “Degrees of the Zodiac” was first published in 1973.

15-16 deg Aries This individual needs to follow guidelines which have been tested and proven. Everyone must learn from his own experience, but this degree indicates an undeveloped judgment. These people do well when they have a pattern or rhythm to follow. They also do better when they are educated. However, they tend to trust the wrong people and leave themselves unguarded. Some people seem to be protected so that they can walk safely through a dangerous situation without a scratch. But people who come strongly under the influence of this degree seem not to have this protection. They seem to feel this vulnerability and even their fear draws the thing they most fear to themselves.

7. Matthew

From “Fixed Stars and Degrees of the Zodiac” analyzed By Ec Mathews in 1968.

15-16 deg Aries “RHYTHM” A degree of law, order and rhythm. Usually a public character, or one with oratorical ability. Loves family and home. This degree is often found in charts of dancers, musicians and poets. Lawyers with Cancer, Capricorn, and Gemini, Sagittarius. Musicians with Leo, Aquarius and Taurus, Scorpio.

11-12 deg Sagittarius An apple tree whose boughs are bending with ripe fruit. A person of fixed habits, fond of his home; an .an affectionate husband or wife; a kind parent and a benevolent citizen.

8. Weber

We are still searching on more information on the origins of the Weber version of Zodiac Degrees. These are most likely by Astrology Author Lind Weber.

15-16 deg Aries

A free lance but a very persuasive one. One who will away the minds of many unless this degree is

heavily afflicted by Neptune

11-12 deg Sagittarius

Easily swayed through his sympathies but fearful when sick. Health must receive first

consideration

15-16 deg Aries A free lance but a very persuasive one. One who will away the minds of many unless this degree is heavily afflicted by Neptune.

11-12 deg Sagittarius

10. Dane Rudhyar

PHASE 15 (ARIES 15°): AN INDIAN WEAVING A CEREMONIAL BLANKET. KEYNOTE: Projecting into everyday living the realization of wholeness and fulfillment. In Christian tradition one hears of Jesus’ “seamless robe.” In Asia one is told of the “spiritual vesture” of the Perfect Ones. The man who has attained the spiritual state is figuratively robed in the universe — and more precisely, in the Milky Way, the Great White Robe of interwoven stars. This is the ultimate kind of weaving. There was also Penelope’s weaving and unweaving, waiting for the return of her polarizing mate. The mind of the American woman in which these symbols took concrete form could think only of “Indian weavers.” For the white man who is hungering for 537 symbols of a state of living in total harmony with the universe, the traditional Indian can be glamorized as the answer to the inner emptiness of the city-dweller surfeited with artificial values. At any rate, we may thus prefigure a future state of fulfillment in conscious harmony and unpossessive love. If this symbol comes to the consciousness of the inquirer after meaning, deliberately or through an aleatory act of revelation (like the act of throwing sticks to obtain an I Ching symbol), implied is the profound fact that every individual has as his ultimate conscious task the weaving of his “immortal body,” his Gnostic Robe of Glory. It may sound very mystical and “far out,” but there is a moment in every cycle when, in however small a degree, every individual may be confronted with the potentiality of a fulfilling act of self-realization and may, ever so relatively, find himself “clothed in light” for an instant. This fifth stage of the third five-fold sequence of symbols ends the first of the twenty-four “scenes.” We are told by it that the FULFILLMENT OF DESIRE is a possibility, at whatever level and in however incomplete a manner it may be experienced.

THIRD LEVEL: INDIVIDUAL/MENTAL PHASE 251 (SAGITTARIUS 11°): IN THE LEFT SECTION OF AN ARCHAIC TEMPLE, A LAMP BURNS IN A CONTAINER SHAPED LIKE A HUMAN BODY. KEYNOTE: The value of the “return to the body” advocated by modern thinkers in order to balance the stress on intellectuality and objective consciousness. This sequence of five symbols confronts us with rather mysterious images, which nevertheless can be given very profound and important meanings for today. The original formulation of this symbol spoke of “physical enlightenment,” but what seems to be implied, in contemporary terms, is the need to rely upon “the wisdom of the body” of which so much is made in sensitivity training and Gestalt psychotherapy. This refers to the process of deconditioning a consciousness that has become a prisoner of intellectual concepts with their total reliance on quantitative values, objectivity and conformity to the official patterns of our culture. This represents the first stage of a challenging process — the fifty-first sequence of five symbols. It stresses the importance, for many individuals, of RELYING UPON ORGANISMIC RESPONSES in meeting life’s challenges.

11. Janduz

By Jeanne Duzéa

15 Aries “A woman holds a pair of scales containing a cup of red wine in one pan and a heap of gold coins in the other.” 652 Selfish, materialistic, and conceited character. One is only concerned in luxury, fine clothing, and all kinds of pleasures. One spends lavishly for oneself but displays utter stinginess towards other people. One is driven by self-interest and picks one’s acquaintances among wealthy and influential persons. Good luck seems to smile on this degree, and with the support of powerful protectors, one achieves success in occupations involving precious stones, gold, silver, and jewellery in general. Nevertheless, unless the natal chart indicates otherwise, such intense self-centeredness and extravagant expenses bring about ruin and unhappiness.

11 Sagittarius “A woman lying on a sofa stretches her hands towards a casket full of jewellery. Outside, a man is trampled by a billy goat.” Greedy and sensual character. One indulges in depravation and is willing to sacrifice everything to meet one’s materialistic and sexual needs. There is a strong probability of ruin. In the chart of males, there may be premature senility or impotence. In the chart of females, sex and flattery are used in order to misappropriate other people’s wealth.

12. Ellias Lonsdale

Chandra Symbols

ARIES 15 A man with pointed ears. Super tuned in. The personification and embodiment of what it looks like, feels like, and is like to have an inside track on everything going on around you. Uncanny awareness. You have the gift of getting across new ways of being, different ways of looking at things. Somehow getting away with 802 being so very different that it no longer matters. Hot-wired to wild and uncomfortable truths. You have special radar for undertones and nuances, motivations and signs of what is going on underneath. The direct front row seat upon who the other is and the challenges and opportunities the other brings before you, when you are ready and eager for the encounter and you know you can always find a way to move with absolutely anything that might arise.

SAGITTARIUS 11 A string of pearls. Everything seems equal to everything else. Life coming in at such an angle of perception that it always leads to the same places. What goes around comes around. Characteristic observations, pet phrases, cliches, truisms. Becoming aware that everything makes perfect sense, that it all fits together as naturally as can be and that all you have to do is pay attention. There is a second, deeper lesson–elusive and baffling–that may ultimately prove to be centered around “Who is the observer, and what is that special ingredient they put in there that makes everything so self-evident?” If the world is right there for the asking, the self remains an enigma, an unknown, the territory yet to be mapped out or rendered commonsensical.
